Watercolors / Pen and Ink

Terry’s use of pen and ink, watercolors and acrylics combine to create whimsical characters suggesting movement and storyline. Vivid colors highlight shapes and patterns setting the stage for playful character interactions.

 

Exploring the fine line between comedy and tragedy, Terry applies her modern dance and improv comedy experience to depict seriously funny situations.

 

Terry grew up enjoying an eclectic array of art displayed throughout her family’s home. Her parents were collectors, who appreciated innovative styles and themes. Their house was full of books on art both historic and contemporary from around the world.  

 

Terry also pays tribute to musical artist David Byrne, modern dance legend Isadora Duncan, composer Villa Lobos and Improv Theater teacher Viloa Spolin for motivation and inspiration.
